HOLTON HALL

I am piecing together the history of the Holton Hall Estate.  In this I am indebted to the items given to me by Mrs. L. Runes of Holton, Donald Woolnough of Halesworth, and John Levy of Wenheston.  I do not yet know when the hall was built. The table below gives a brief summary of the ownership and occupancy of the Hall.  I apologise for any errors and contradictions, these I shall rectify as I receive more information.  I now have details of public auctioning of the estate, both in 1886, just after the hall was rebuilt after a fire and 1937, these include full descriptions of the layout of the hall at that time, also maps of the estate. I have included transcripts of the auction details I will correct the errors produced by the
OCR later.  If you prefer direct copies of the originals, these are available as a downloadable zip file by clicking on "download"
