| At the 50th Anniversary of the American visit, I obtained copies of maps of
Holton Airfield showing the location of all the buildings in 1944 with their descriptions.
These I have combined into a single composite, showing the full area from the airfield
site down to where the sick quarters were located near Holton village. A zipped up version
of this can be obtained by clicking on "Airfield". Unzipped the file expands to
13.5Mbyte tif file. It should be noted that these maps were produced by the Air Ministry
in 1944 prior to the Americans taking over the base. Subsequently other buildings were
erected that are not shown on this map. Also the purpose to which the buildings were used
by the Americans when they took over the site are often different to that indicated on the
drawings.

- Map showing Halesworth Airfield as it was in 1944. I
originally sized this map to fit a 50 x 60 cm frame. That is about 1ft 6ins x 2ft, for
those like me who can't really think in centimetres. The map was scanned at 500 bits per
inch to try to preserve as much original detail as possible. (Zip file size 1,418kbytes)

- Composite map of Holton Hall Park as shown on the last
page. This Shows the site as it is today and as it was in 1944 on the same map. Click on
"Holton "to download. (Zip file size 394kbytes) I will eventually replace this
with a series of separate site plans.
